Here’s some worthy Randy Newman news:

This Monday, he’ll start recording piano/vocals for his next CD.

It’s going to be stripped down versions of previously recorded songs. Just the piano/vocals, which I think is something that was suggested or discusssed on the list not too long ago. Says it’s not what he’d hoped to do, but he didn’t have other new material ready and thinks it may not be a bad idea in terms of sales for the new label. Between 14-18 songs that he’ll select, hasn’t made all the choices yet. Maybe we can all guess and see who comes closest to the actual songlist. Plans to add a few piano pieces adapted from his soundtrack music, too. Excited at the prospect of that. He said to tell Nina he’s been playing Dexter’s Tune a bit.

Met dank aan Jim Moran voor het goede nieuws.
